It seems that the packaging of a trekking backpack is a simple activity, you just have to put your things and start in the mountains, right? Not necessarily. The thought scarcely thought of the content and the distribution of incorrect weight can cause a lot of discomfort and can make it significantly difficult to do an excursion. Here are some suggestions on how to pack a trekking backpack to avoid inconveniences and have everything that is important during your holiday.
The golden rule for packaging

Trekking backpack
It is: divide the interior into areas where it is possible to find the right categories of outdoor clothes and excursions equipment. Do you already have in front of you what you want to bring with you during an excursion? Then set the priority order of your equipment so that you can distinguish four basic elements:
- Second group: heavy articles, such as: reserve trekking shoes, hiking and hiking cartridge, trekking utensils, food supplies, cosmetics.
- Third group: articles used frequently that must always be useful: Softshell /
rainy jacket
/
PUF jacket
/ Hardshell (depending on the season and the conditions on the course), emergency room kit, front torch, Thermos, etc. It can also include some small objects – from a knife and a power bank to documents.
- Fourth group: larger objects set outside

. It can concern Bidonu water, a transport or parts of a

.
Once this selection has been made, the optimal arrangement of the articles in a trekking backpack will be much simpler.
I deliberately arranged the groups of articles listed in order, from the bottom up. After all, put the articles that is unlikely that you use on the route. Is it problematic? Not necessarily, because a mountain backpack often has an additional zipper to facilitate access to what is below. With this solution, it is possible to access the sleeping bag that goes right, if necessary, without having to remove what is above.
Examples of hiking backpacks with an additional lower part are:
The two groups listed is very important, because it determines where the center of gravity of the backpack will be. Particular attention must be paid here, because packaging errors can cause problems. For example, if articles are inserted in this category above, the entire structure will become unstable. You will feel it once you start hiking and the backpack begins to rinse. In extreme situations it is also possible to lose balance.
So don’t forget to distribute your weight in the same way. The rule is simple: the more difficult it is an object, the more it should be. By placing the backpack of the backpack right next to your body, a mountain expedition will not be uncomfortable. If you place something that weighs a lot in a backpack sector, make sure there is a good balance on the opposite side. In addition, do not forget to wrap fragile objects and those with sharp edges in something else (for example, a towel or a shirt). This can protect you from unnecessary damage.
Small heavy items (for example a multitool) are better distributed in smaller pockets. Modern hiking backpacks are often well equipped with this type of storage space.
The upper part of the backpack and the pockets for quick and easy access should contain the necessary objects on the route. Don’t forget you always have a

Snack (sticks, energy gel or sandwiches), a bottle of Thermos or a bottle of water, but also an anterior torch and an emergency room kit.
The correct order in the backpack is a guarantee that you will quickly find the response to changing weather conditions, a sudden decrease in energy or by chance. Simply, in these moments, it is a waste of time to move all your equipment.
Not all objects are suitable for inserting a backpack compartment. The least maneuverable are usually better fixed outside – with elastic bands, clamps, belts, velcro and carabiniere. More commonly, camping equipment – Carrim and curtains are fixed. Sometimes a cup of excursions or a bottle of water is hanging outside, as well as trekking sticks (if not used). Hanging clothes or towels is also a way to dry things wet during excursions.
What else can be a problem on the path when it comes to a backpack? Certainly the wrong capacity of the luggage. If you make a short excursion to the mountains, do not pack your bags with maximum capacity. Why? Because, if you leave too much free space, the trekking backpack will break in some places. This is uncomfortable during excursions and sometimes even dangerous because you lose the balance, especially during the risky maneuvers on narrow broken portions.
What happens if you are about to start on a long hiking in the mountains and have a large backpack, but not very easy to put? Can a large number of belts and strings compensate for its small capacity? NO! It is important to take care of the backpack. The expedition baggage does not necessarily have to look like a Christmas tree, because everything more than you put outside reduces stability. Therefore, it risks serving accidentally from a branch or a stone, which, in mountain conditions, can end with an accident.
You wonder what capacity is the best for you for you? If you are preparing for a day in the mountains, a model with a capacity of 20-35 liters would be a good choice. If you plan a few days of excursions and intend to sleep in the shelters, a backpack with a capacity of 40-55 liters should be sufficient. If you dream of a real shipment where you will transport all the camping equipment to the rear, you may need a large shipping backpack, with a capacity of 50 to 80 liters.
For years, trekking backpacks have been offered in the unisex versions. The «universal» models were, in fact, created mainly with the thought of the standard adult male silhouette and the specificity of their design did not take into account the height and weight of the average woman. With this design, some women have encountered difficulties they adapt well to the life and the ribbish of the chest, which could lead to the discomfort on the path. Fortunately, the outdoor brands have started to recognize this problem and the modern tourist backpack is increasingly offered in two separate versions – for men and women.
